Description
This area, like most other places in Ogden, faces predominately west and south, thus the same conditions apply. Routes in this area are typically only 1 pitch, though a few are two pitches. Most of the bolted routes here are between 5.10 and 5.12. The handful of trad routes here are mostly moderate under 5.10. The climbing is typical of Ogden quartzite. For all intents, I am including every thing in the guidebook as listed under the 'Big Deck,' to the north, to the 'Madison Wall,' to the south under the Nature Center Wall. Basically, everything on that band of cliffs north of the Macabre Wall excluding the 'Sun Deck' and the 'North Ogden Slabs.'
Getting There
Park at the Nature Center Trailhead a mile or two north of the Catholic church on Mountain Road/Harrison. Scope an approach from the parking lot, since there is no real trail to speak of up to the cliff, follow trails up to the Bonneville Shoreline, then follow a line of talus up. My recommendation is to aim for the "Couch Surfing" area then branch off from there. This lands you in the middle of the North Ogden area.
